Farmland is a decentralized yield farming game running on the Ethereum blockchain. The objective of the game is to cultivate the most profitable farm in the world.
At the heart of the game there are 57 million square kilometers of LAND, which are available to build your farms, grow & harvest crops. The more land you own, the bigger you can make your farms and of course, bigger farms yield more crops. There are opportunities within the game to increase your yield with productivity boosts.
How to play
To play Farmland, all you’ll need are a few LAND tokens and you’re all set to build your first farm, which will enable you to grow various commodities … at launch you will be able to grow CORN.
Once you’ve granted planning permission to your farm and allocated your LAND you’ll notice that it immediately starts to grow CORN & will continue to grow at 0.00000001 (per block before boosts) for each LAND token allocated to your farm.
Growing Cycles
You’ll need to monitor you crops on a regular basis as once they are fully grown they will stop growing and you’ll need to harvest before they can continue growing
Farm Maturity Boost
As your farm matures it’s productivity increases up to maximum of 3x. Your maturity boost starts to gradually increase around 24 hours after you have allocated your LAND to a farm and fully matures after around 28 days.
Your maturity boost will increase to it’s maximum unless your release your LAND for other purposes.
Compost Boost
When you compost crops you can use the resulting fertilizer to boost productivity of your farm up to a maximum of 10x.
As this is a global game your compost boost is relative to all other farms and consequently degrades over time as other farms compost their crops and use it as a fertilizer.
Unlike the maturity boost, even if you release your LAND, the compost boost will remain on the LAND if you build another farm.
What can I use CORN for?
CORN tokens will have a several uses at launch:
- Primarily, CORN can be used to fertilize your farm by composting & boost it’s productivity up to a maximum of 10x. This reduces the overall supply of CORN as the tokens are burned.
- You could sell your CORN on Uniswap for others to use as a fertilizer. You can then buy more LAND or other cryptocurrencies.
- You can provide your CORN as liquidity on Uniswap where you will earn fees when CORN is traded.
- Or you could simply store your CORN in the barn for a rainy day
The Future
There’s already several idea’s for future enhancements to the game … here are a few examples:
- Your LAND could be used to grow additional crops such as WHEAT, RICE, COFFEE etc. each with different growth rate, growing cycles & boosts.
- Your LAND could be used for different types of commodity such as mining for GOLD, OIL.
- Limited NFT’s could be added to increase boosts, such as a TRACTOR or COMBINED HARVESTER.
As with all Ethereum based contracts, they are composable so the community will be able to add new functionality and provide ideas future development.
