As we’ve mentioned previously, core to the future of Farmland are the Farmland Character NFTs.
You can now mint yourself some Farmland Characters & have the option to employ your Characters as Farmers, Miners, Explorers, Hunters and more …
Only Farmers will be available from launch, enabling you to employ your Character as a Farmer helping you manage your Corn Farms.
What’s so special about Farmland Characters?
Over the last few months we’ve been hard at work building Farmland Characters.
There are a maximum of 10,000 unique Farmland Characters and at launch we’ll be limiting the initial release to around 1,000 Characters.
Around half the proceeds for this initial mint will be used to provide liquidity to Farmland pairs on Sushiswap.
Each Farmland Character comes with its own unique artwork, metadata and stats. The artwork and metadata will be revealed periodically after minting.
Character stats will be revealed immediately with each Character being randomly assigned values (up to 99) for the following five stats:
- Stamina, Strength, Speed, Courage & Intelligence
These stats will be used throughout the game and will impact outcomes depending on how the Character is employed.
Stat Boost
You’ll have the option to increase your Characters Stats by up to 10 points. You’ll need CORN-ETH SLP tokens to purchase these boosts. The SLP tokens will be retained by Farmland as liquidity for CORN.
Rarity Badges
Characters will also gain rarity badges from its various stats and attributes.
Special Badges
The first 100 characters minted will gain the Founder rarity badge.
Stat Badges
Any Character with a stat above 95 will gain one of the following rarity badges:
- Tank, Warrior, Lightning, Hero & Genius
Visual Badges
In addition, each Character will also have a number of visual attributes a few of which will gain the one of the following rarity badges.
- Red Pill, Cyber, In the club, Meta & Laser Eyes
Rarity
Character rarity is calculated as follows:
Common = 0 badges
Uncommon = 1 badge
Rare = 2 badges
Epic = 3 badges
Legendary = 4 or more badges
Why should I employ my Character as a Farmer?
By employing Farmland Characters as a farmers you level up your Farm and open up new capabilities.
Manage Larger Farms
Without farmers your farms are limited to 15,000 Land, once you employ a farmer you’re able to manage much larger Farms, up to 150,0000 Land. You’ll need your farmer until you release your Land.
Increased Corn Yield
You can employ one or more Farmers, each one will increase your Farm boost based on their Stamina stats.
If you were to employ Leticia Falls as a farmer, her Stamina stat of 94 would add 1.94x to your maximum Farm boost.
You can employ multiple farmers, each one increasing your Farm boost, however the total won’t exceed 7x.
The Farm Boost is a combination of the 3x maturity boost & the farmers stamina boost, leading to a maximum Farm boost of 10x.
Allocate additional Land
Once you employ a farmer, you’ll be able to allocate additional Land to your farm, without releasing first. But, you’ll want to harvest first, otherwise you’ll kill any growing crops.
Composting Bonus
Employing a farmer means your composting becomes more efficient and each time you compost, you’ll receive a permanent 10% fertilizer bonus. For example, if you decide to compost 100 Corn, you’ll fertilize your farm with 110 Corn. This doesn’t impact your historical composting boost.
Increased Growing Season
With a farmer, your growing season will be increased from 7 to 14 days, giving you more time between harvests and reducing your costs.
When can I start minting?
Minting is now live and available on the Farmland website.
How much will the Character cost to mint?
For the initial 1,000 Farmland Characters, you’ll need 0.05 ETH (+gas) to mint your Character on Arbitrum One.
Half the proceeds for this initial mint will be used to provide liquidity for Farmland pairs, the rest will be retained for the builders & to fund the Farmland treasury. Here’s the breakdown:
- 50% will be set aside for liquidity, initially to help reduce slippage & stabilize the Corn marketplace. The plan is to add liquidity to the CORN-ETH on a weekly basis for 12 weeks following the initial mint.
- 25% will go into the Farmland treasury to cover future expenses. In this uncertain regulatory environment we need to be prepared to cover taxes, legal costs in addition to further development, marketing, operations, 3rd party support etc.
- 25% will go to the builders, including the artist who’ll receive 5% of the proceeds for the fantastic work she’s done on the artwork.
